Rhodes Old Town
The Old Town of Rhodes, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since in 1988, is a fascinating tourist destination, with a rich history and plenty to see and do. It is particularly favoured as a shopping and dining destination, as its old alleyways are lined up with tourist shops selling souvenirs, fashion, and groceries.
The main shopping street, Sokratous, has something in store for everyone – from high-end jewellery and fashion to inexpensive trinkets and souvenirs. You’ll find plenty to buy while you stroll down this street to the Ippokratous Square – the main meeting point of the Old Town, which is surrounded by cafe and restaurants with sidewalk terraces. This is also the side of the town where you’ll find the most popular bars and clubs. Another popular shopping street in the Old Town is Orfeos.
